Any ideas how to use this yarn?
I have several skeins of 100% silk boucle yarn, hand-dyed, and just beautiful. Three skeins of sky blue and three of jade green. The problem is, there isn't enough of either to do much more than a scarf or shawl. (Approx 120 yards each skein.)
I also have some very nice ladder yarns (Eros brand). I got into knitting shawls a while back and went crazy on the ladder yarns. Some really nice colours, and some of it goes very nicely with the boucle.
Any ideas of how I could do this yarn justice? It is just gorgeous stuff, and I'd hate to waste it on something I wouldn't love as much as I love the yarn!DH aka Mad Hen

Do you belong to Ravelry? If so, you could look up other projects made w/ similar yarns.
If that doesn't work, there's a What Would You Make group on Ravelry.

I had the same thoughts as Aimeebee. Do you have a project that would benefit from an accent stripe?

I think you've gotten some great tips so far. I don't have anything else to offer. Either way, I would love to see what you end up making with it. The yarn sounds so beautiful.

I'll have to take some pics of it and post it. The problem with both yarns (boucle and ladder) is their texture. They would not fit in well in most projects, although I have actually combined the two to make some nice scarves in the past. Also, both would require handcare when it came to laundering. I'll try to get pics tomorrow and post.

With the sky blue and the green, why not make a wrap?
You could have a beautiful wrap for special occassions.
Here is an example of something that you could do:

here is the link to Ravelry-as was said before it takes a few days to get in.
I have a great scarf pattern that uses the trellis yarn.I have made it with eyelash but I bet you could subsitute the boucle.
Start with the boucle cast on 200 stitchs very loosely on a circular size 6
mm.(you will NOT be knitting in the round).Knit the ball of Boucle until finished, add Trellis knit it till done ,add 2nd ball Boucle knit till done cast off loosely..
If you knit sweaters you could knit with a co-ordinating colour and use the boucle to knit the cuffs and collar even the front band(in a cardigan)it would be like a fur effect,or you could knit collar and cuffs and add them to existing sweaters or coats.
If you combined it with the trellis yarn you could do a purse I have seen some neat purse patterns out there,or a hat-if you wear one.
Ok I'm out of ideas

I haven't done anything with it yet. I'm waiting for the perfect thing to come along. I know if I use it, sure enough, I'll find a pattern that calls for boucle or ladder yarn in that quantity!! I *have* made some scarves out of these yarns in the past, so I appreciate everyone's suggestion to do so, because they made really lovely (if not terribly warm) scarves!
But I'd like to try something a little more ambitious with what is left.
