At last! I feel like picking up my knitting again!
I have had a cold. It started last Saturday.
It would have been a good opportunity to knit, but I just didn't feel like it.
Wednesday, I was feeling a lot better. I did errands and went thrifting.
Thurday ... Friday ... Saturday: feeling well, but not ambitious.
This morning, though, I was cruising Ravelry. ( www. ravelry.com ).
And I found the free pattern for these mittens:

I think all the teenagers on my list will be getting these for Christmas 2009.Last edited by Early Bird; 01-11-2009 at 06:58 PM.

Oooh I love those. What color are you doing them in?

Well, I guess grey is the color from the movie.
I'll have to see what worsted weight yarn I have -- and have enough of to double strand. The only chunky in my stash is a blue/ivory marled, and I don't know if the cables would be hidden with that.
A lot of people on Ravelry have double-stranded worsted weight successfully on this pattern.
Sadly, though, MY teenage daughter wasn't impressed with this pattern. We'll see... one of her very best friends is having a birthday in February. Maybe if I knit these for S, then D will want a pair too.

I love those. Yankeemom made at least one pair of those and is working on another pair for herself

Yup! Those are the ones I made for dd16. She LOVES them. Her friends drool over them lol. For hers, I just did a single strand of worsted weight. They fit snug rather than loose like the original mittens were (in the movie). She likes them snug.
Mine, I'm doubling worsted weight (Caron Simply Soft Eco) and it's working out well. For both I chose a charcoal gray for the color. I think they would look nice in ivory too.
Glad you found your knitting mojo again
