Is learning cross stitch difficult?
I tried needlepoint years and years ago. I wasn't very good at it.
I love cross stitch, but am not sure how easy it is to pick up on my own.
Is it all that hard?

Sara, I have been crosstitching for years and I knew absolutely nothing about it in the beginning. I had no previous experience in anything that required a needle and it was easy for me. My first project was a 3 color bear that measured 3" X 3". My second, which was a month later, was a Wedding Sampler for my dh's sisters' wedding. It was 22 colors and measured 14" X 22". It took a while, about 2 months off and on, but I have been going wild ever since.
Start with something simple and work your way up. You should have no trouble at all. NOTE: Finding the time is the most difficult challenge!!!

Crosstitching is fun and easy. The trickiest part is making sure you have counted your spaces correctly as you stitch. Go for it but beware,it can be addicting.

Yes, it's easy!
The hardest part for me is the counting part. It can be confusing when it's small, but if you stitch one too much or made a mistake, you can just undo what is wrong and start again.
Good luck!
Have fun!

Thanks gang. I have seen some really beautiful kits, but have always been afraid to spend the money and not grasp the craft. I have always been intimidated by things like cross stitch, needlepoint, sewing, quilting and yet, think nothing of jumping into crocheting or knitting.
I think in a couple of weeks I'll look into a sampler or ornament to try. (am currently working on a crocheted blanket, so will wait until I am done with this)
I'd love to be able to do something nice.
