What a neat idea!! I'll have to log that away for a future project.

What a cute idea!! I have tons of doilies that made grandmother crocheted and this is a great idea. Would also make great gifts for my grown kids and their families!

Like that idea very much. Used to work parttime at a Hallmark shop, one of the ladies there made and framed doilies with cards that contained mushy sentimental stuff designed to bring the receiver to tears. Always worked

I love doilies, and framed ones are even nicer.

If you don't want to make your own I see them all the time at estate sales. Generally, they are not expensive and often over looked. We sometimes bundle small gifts in them w/ ribbons. I like the framed idea. Wouldn't it be nice with calligraphy w/ a babies birthdate or something special.

Thanks for the neat ideas ladies and for the link miss_thrifty! I have some of my grandmothers who passed when I was 9 years old. I will definitely be doing something with them now rather than them sitting in a linen cupboard.

I have one that my mom framed in my bathroom. I have an Americana theme in my bathroom, so she backed it with blue and white homespun and even "blued" up the frame a little. Here is a picture of it!

What a wonderful way to remember those who meant so much to us.

    Thanks for the link.
