ISO online sock pattern using circular needles...
...and for a newbie. Is that too tall an order?
DPN's scare me, and I would rather try circs.
TIA

Try Silver's Sock Tutorial. She has tutorials for dpns, 2 circs, 1 circ (magic loop). That's how I learned to make socks. It's fantastic. Nice simple pattern, layman's terms, LOTS of pictures.
BTW, any sock pattern that calls for dpns you can do w/ circs. Knitting with two circs is basically knitting with four dpns that are connected w/ cables.Last edited by YankeeMom; 04-28-2009 at 01:53 PM.

Oops, sorry about that--I forgot to mention that I saw you post about Silver's before. I am so confused though. Her site says that she's showing how to knit them but that what she has there are not patterns.

And now I have a question about something you just said...knitting with 2 circs...do you mean 1 pair of circs? Or will I need to use 2 pairs. I feel like an idiot asking, but I really am clueless.
Someone on another forum offered to send me some sock yarn and circs, but I don't even have a pattern to use to tell her what size circs I need.

Here is the Yarn Harlot's Basic Sock Recipe. It's step by step, using dpns. But if you want to use circs, you can use two pair of circs. Two pair of circs = 4 dpns. The size needles you need depends on the recommended gauge of the sock yarn. Usually it's between US1-3.
Here's a nice simple patter w/ two circs.
