Crocheting advice needed please
I'm fairly new to crocheting. I've tried to pick it up several times but get bored to easily and give up. I can do some of the most common stitches (sc, dc, tc, ch, etc) and I can make granny squares. I made a few dishcloths too.
I'm thinking if I could find something that is quick and easy to make, I'd be more happy and follow through with the project and be more satisfied with my work. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might try?

How about a scarf? Or a hat? There are some beginner projects out there that are quite quick and easy.

I started by making little blankets for the cats at the shelter - they don't care what it looks like, and it doesn't have to be huge - it gives you great practice & practice changing colors, etc.
I've made them with double, half double & triple stitches, just for practice - and the cats LOVE to have a little something to snuggle up on.Don't Breed or Buy While Shelter Pets Die

Cat blankets? OMG, what an awesome idea and how sweet of you to do!!!!
How about headbands or flowers? I like the scarf idea, I have project ADD as well and scarves are a good project... quick to finish

I started with hats & granny squares. Granny squares can be made into blankets, you know - & they are awfully quick! ;-)
Scrunchies are also pretty quick & easy, and simple baby booties can be too...

Good luck Semo.......I will be watching this to see how your frustration level goes. This is one thing I don't do.
Saw a 'beginner' crochet book at the dollar store yesterday. Picked it up, thumbed through it, went YIKES, and put it back down!

One of my favorite items that I have made recently was a baby Afghan. It was made like a giant granny square using medium weight yarn. It was fun to make and made up really quick.
It was similar to this one (although I only used a couple of colors).

I have found that the little stuffed animals are fairly easy and very quick to finish. It's called amigurumi. The idea is simple, you do sc in the round into whatever shape you want. I have done a snowman, a bunny's head (that went onto a rattle), a fish and a gingerbread man - it's one stitch, but it works up fast. You can get patterns online for them, too - here's a site with quite a few crochetpatterncentral.com.
Also, here's a website with lots of easy and quick-to-finish patterns favecrafts.
