    Default October's Needlework Arts Challenge

October's challenge has been posted!! Please post your responses to:

[ame="http://www.frugalvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116908"]2009 Needlework Arts Challenge!! - Frugal Village Forums[/ame]

    Here is the challenge!!

Okay, October is just around the corner - time to be thinking about your next challenge!!

When I think of October, I think of cold, dark nights; golden leaves swirling around my feet; harvests; and Halloween.

October holds the promise of cold nights and warm fires.

So, your October challenge is to make something that you (or anyone else) can use for winter. It can be a hearth rug, slippers, a shawl, a pair of mittens - doesn't matter - but it should evoke in your mind images of comfort and warmth.

Your colour challenge, if you want one, is black!

Oh, I am in for this one!

I plan on making a scarf, with a cow motif (her nickname is Moof) for a friend of mine -- just the inspiration I needed!

    I like it!

I'm working on mittens for a Christmas gift. After that, each kid wants mittens or wristwarmers.

As soon as the sock is off the needles, I'm making mittens for the grand children.

I'm in. I've already finished the shawl, but I cast on another pair of felted clogs (slippers) last night. This pair will be for my oldest ds. I'd like to make a pair for my youngest ds this month as well.

Ya... it won, I pulled the scarf apart -- just as well, I realized I didn't have enough yarn to finish a full scarf anyways...

Same person, same red yarn, different kind of scarf
