I've started taking more knitting classes and going to open knit night each week. I found I was doing this weird little combination of continental and English. Have corrected my technique and am now doing continental the right way - and finding knitting is so much easier when I'm doing it right...lol Enjoying it very much

I learnt to knit a couple of years ago using the English style but I'm trying to train myself to knit continental at the moment as it tends to be faster. I think it would also be useful for colourwork if I can hold one yarn in each hand. Nobody has shown me how to do continental, my mum just knits English style (or Scottish style as she calls it!) So I'm trying to learn from the internet! Does anybody have any tips?

I taught myself to crochet before i taught myself to knit so i hold the yarn in my left hand as if i am crocheting and pick the yarn up with the needle. I'm guessing that is continental since i don't throw the yarn over.
