Frogging
Does anyone here besides me HATE frogging???!!! it used to be so bad that I wouldn't frog even a few stitches to fix a mistake in crochet. I got better, and didn't mind so much to go even a few rows back if I realized I missed a stitch or something because the finished product looked so nice.
Well now I pulled out a lapghan I started making while in the hospital with my 1st (6.5 years ago). It went with me again for my middle son, and again 2 years ago with my youngest. Let me tell you, you shouldn't stitch after labor and delivery. it just doesn't work well!!! I just looked at the almost finished product, and it needs to be frogged - completely. All the rows are uneven, there is almost no stitch definition and it looks just awful! I am not looking forward to this.
On another note, I have been learning to knit this month, and I have already made one completed hat. However I have frogged 2 started scarves and another hat!
Wanna start an "I hate frogging" club with me so we can support each other through our mistakes?

Well it takes me forever to get just the right look I want whenever I start a new project that I will usually frog several times before I'm happy with it. I actually frogged a baby blanket today so it will be narrower and hopefully the yarn I'm using will be enough to crochet a descent size blanket.

I'll join you in the I hate frogging club. If I have to frog too much, I usually throw the thing in my "I'll get to it someday" pile!

I don't mind frogging (ripping it out entirely or back to the mistake) but I REALLY hate 'tink-ing' (knitting backwards or un-knitting). It's so time consuming!

Frogging = Ripping it out. Get it..."rip it, rip it" sounds like "ribbit ribbit". Hence, frogging

If its not too far back I will frog it. If its a ways back and not that noticeable I will leave it and pretend I didnt' notice! lol
If its really bad I'll usually just get mad and put the entire project in a box somewhere.

I have done my share of frogging. Both crochet and knitting.
I try to double check my work as I go....so if I see a mistake early on, I can pull then. I won't leave a mistake if I can help it. I will know it's there and it will drive me nuts...till I back up and fix it.
And the un knitting...oh yeah....if I see a mistake ...back a row or two...I un knit it....what fun that is....NOT........

Put the frog in pot, turn up the heat real slow, and the frog doesn't hop out. And by the time he realizes, he should , it's too late... think about it.

I forgot to mention that I usually ask my kids to do it, with strict instructions that they are never to do so unless asked. The little one, 6 especially loves it.
