Anyone belong to a knitting group?
I just joined a knitting group with my mother 2 weeks ago. We meet at the library on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month. I am definitely the least experienced, and while everyone is really nice (so far, have only been to 1 meeting LOL), it's still pretty intimidating.
So does anyone else belong to a knitting group "IRL" (in real life, ie not on the internet)?

I wish. There is a local group (within walking distance) but they charge. I'll need to keep an ear out for others who knit in the area.

Several churches have knitting groups that always welcome newbies. Think of the wealth of experience that the "church ladies" may have. Also many churches welcome the start of groups as long as they can provide meeting space and someone to organize it. Many women just want to get out of the house and sit with other women once a week.

Likewise, as cea says.........the shops charge. I am looking for a crochet group.
I see it listed on the JoAnn's sheet but no price listed.......I can't even imagine it is free but I am going to check.

In yesterday's paper, our local library is doing a learn to knit group once a month in their meeting room. I plan on going. Yes I know how to knit....but....I think I can learn a few new things. Always up for a new adventure

You could always start your own....

The one I go to is through the town library. We sit in wing back chairs by their electric fireplace.

I joined the Meetup Knitting group for the area and might try to just post... "I'll be knitting at Panera's please join me. I'm the one with the balls of yarn!" Just wish I had a free day to do it on. lol

A friend and I started our own knitting group. We meet at Borders once a week. Try as we may, it's still only the two of us a year later

I belong to a couple of knitting groups. I'm finding it to be an expensive hobby, but enjoying it so much I don't care
