Cute frugal pincushion
I saw one of these in my local quilting shop. I thought it was too darn cute. They drilled 2 holes in the flat side of a plastic soda cap, stuffed a pretty fabric w/ cotton, attached elastic, hot glue and wa-lah! A too cute pincushion.

I want back to the original directions and loved all the original designs there too. I'm making one to velcro to my sewing machine and others to use as stocking stuffers.

when I was doing dishes this afternoon - specifically washing out a tuna can - I had a thought (which I am sure is not original) to make tuna can pincushions for gifts also. I'll post pictures when I do. Could also make a container with a magnet in the bottom for paper clips!!
Love it how one idea blossoms into so many more!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I've made other pincushions in the past. Several made from baby shoes. The one I am using now I prefer. I bought a pretty coffee cup w/ saucer at a yardsale. I mad a pretty pincushion & attached in the cup. The cup is always in the saucer. The saucer holds my seam ripper, thread, and thimble.

I don't have any photos of the baby shoe pincushions. I made them and gave to my mother (they were my daughter's baby shoes). But I found a link to some that are very similar to what I made. Vintage Baby Shoe Pin Cushion by arosewithoutathorn on Etsy
