Your rug is beautiful so far!!
You will have to post another photo when you get further along.
Do you know where you will place the rug when finished? Do you know how large you want the rug to be yet?Jen

Thank you for all the nice replies. This is my first one so I am trying to be forgiving of myself when I can see some mistakes in it. But that is hard for me because as most people are I am hardest on myself
As far as size, I am not sure yet but maybe between 2 and 3 foot across?
For those of you who are thinking of doing it a few tips I have learned 1)it takes ALOT of material so be prepared! I have cut up so many shirts, and curtians, ect!
2) It is better and you will have more "even stitch" results if you use the same "type" of fabric throughout. For example all t-shirts, or all sheets, ect.
3) If you cut up a t-shirt to do it try to do it in all one strip (you can find tutorials on line if you need to) but the more "joining pieces" the more lumps
4) You need to add stitches every once in a while to round it. This also helps the curling
I am by no means an expert but just sharing some things I have learned during the process

Oh! I forgot to say where I am putting it! My house was built in the 30's and so we have a coal room in our basement (it is where people used to shovel coal in a storage area for thier furnaces) and I am making it into a craft room. I am going to put down a carpet remnant but being in a basement it'll still be "cold" so I thought thise might warm things up a bit
I am excited because the space will be completely MINE and I "girly-it-up" as much as I want! LOL So thats why all the chicky colors in the rug

Love your rug and the colors you're using!! Did you say what size you are making? You are really inspiring me to get one going myself - what size crochet hook are you using?
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

MM, I was thinking about 2 or 3 foot across. The hook is huge! I believe it is a Q? The part that takes the longest is the fabric cutting and joining. The stitching itself goes quick. Check out my album for pics of the rug I just did for my sons room it took me about a week of my spare time to do it
