I am making a rag rug

I have only done chain stitches and single crochet in my life and Im not very good at it but I am crocheting a rag rug from different cloth strips. Its not perfect by a long shot but I am going to keep plugging away and I wanted to poast on here so that I keep on track and dont give up

Great idea! What size are your strips and are you making it square or oval? God luck and hope you will post pics of your progress.

I love rag rugs and have 3 of them. My step-dad's 90 some year old step-mother made them. I can't wait to see pics, if you can get thm to load here, I'm not on facebook.

Way cool! I want to try a no-sew braided rag rug. I haven't gotten around to it though.

Wow! That is so pretty! Your color combo is so nice, and it certainly looks like it's coming along perfectly good to me. I would be so proud of myself making that! Do you have instructions? One of my goals for 2011 is to get back into crafting. I do know how to crochet, but have never been able to follow a pattern

, even though I have no trouble learning the stitches. Just can't put it together except for scarves and blankets. Sooooo, I'm guessing I CAN do the rag rug.
