Default Help - wearing my fingers to the bone

well, not litterally... but it feels like it!

What do you do to keep the yarn from hurting your tossing finger? I tried lotion, I tried even holding the yarn lower on the finger... basically, I now have broken skin up and down my finger.

I thought about making a finger-sleeve, but I am pretty sure I would hit the ceiling if I bent back a piece of skin.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I would say to wrap in in skin tape. I know that is what I do when I get my fingers sore from sewing.

Try a stretchy Band-Aid. Or duct tape.

i use first aid tape- the white stuff.
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

Since I've just gone back to crocheting, Ive been amazed at how rough the yarn feels on my hands - thought it was just my skin getting more sensitive. Think I'll make sure I am using hand lotion on a regular basis and then using a nonsticky one before I start using yarn - hope that works.

Good luck on solving your challenge - mahalo for bringing this topic up!!
