How's everyone's yarn projects going?
I am 2" from being done ds's second sock, almost done! I can't wait to have this pair done. It hasn't been easy at all. Then onto making a pair for a friend
and a pair for dh. Being done with the Christmas socks is going to feel great.
Then it's on to crocheting some christmas ornaments...over 50 of them.
From there I'd like to spend some time knitting for babies at the Maternity ward at the hospital here. When our kids, Erick and Hannah each were born there, they each were given handmade knit hats and I'd like to return the favor, it was a great thing to have and a keepsake i'll treasure forever.
Where are you in your yarn projects?? What are your plans for the next project??~~ Missy ~~

Well, I just now finished DS's knit socks. They appear that they will be a little tight
But at least they fit, lol.
I will be starting on the other socks tonight or tomorrow.

I've not gotten very far on my projects lately (been trying to finish a semester project for school- no time to crochet or knit)
You are certainly an inspiration!

WTG Melissa!

I haven't worked any more on my afghan but I have mad myself 2 hats. My sister bought some specialty yarn and wanted me to work with it first. It wasn't the easiest stuff I have ever worked with and probably won't do so again for a long time. There is no elasticity to it, very hard on my hands forcing the stitches.
This one was made with Bernat Boa yarn. Very soft.

This one I made last night. It is with Lion Brand Chenille yarn. I adapted the pattern from the blue one and messed up! It is way to tight on the very bottom and doesn't fit my head! So tonight I will rip it out and start over. I may just make the brim a rolled brim so I won't run into the problem again. This is the one that is very hard to work with, my hands ached by the time I was done.

Melissa, your an inspiration.
Being gone for the past few years, I haven't gotten any more done on my afghan, but I will be back at it tonight.
I also want to make a few more, so I'm watching for yarn to go on sale.

Both look great, I haven't yet worked with either of those yarns. The boa yarn looks hard to work with, do you have to make sure the stringies stay on one side or do they go on both sides of the work? I saw some long eyelash yarn that looked neat, too. Both hats look great. Someday i want to get working on a chinnelle rolled brim hat for dd and a matching one for me.

I was surprised at how easy the boa yarn was to work with. You just let it go wherever it wants to. The hard part with that yarn was counting stitches, but counting rows was darn near impossible. Glad I was just measuring!
