    Default thinking....is that dangerous?

Maybe so. But I was looking at this pattern:

    http://www.crochetnmore.com/spiralhairtie.htm

then i was looking at my tree. I am wondering if i altered the pattern a little if i could use this idea to make a spiral garland for my tree?? I might give it a try....hmmmm

Or maybe "icicle ornaments" for the tree? hmmmmmm

Oh I like that. I might do some just to have as red bows on mine. I usually attach velvet french ribbon bow, but would love some of these tossed in too.

    Thank you for the link.

I think you could definitely do a neat garland. I picture you could do just the spirals or attach bows in a row with a few chains in between.
