crochet hooks
Zachary swiped my g crochet hook. lol Well, I have a spare, but it's not the same! I don't like how it feels in my hand and it's more difficult to work with. Who knew there was such a difference in hooks. All of mine are aluminum..just different brands.

I loke Boye hooks. But i will use others if i have to. But I prefer the Boye's because it's what I learned on.

My missing one is Susan Bates and the ones I don't like are the Boye's. I find the Boye's to be heavier and thicker and the hook part is not as defined. I have to be careful when I use the Boye's.

Same here Sara, I tend not to *look* at what I'm working on and will drop stitches all the time. The Boye hook isn't defined enough for me either. I don't think I own a Boye hook. Oh wait, yes I do, but it is an afghan hook that I don't use that often.Originally posted by smnoel

And all my hooks are aluminum too.

I don't like the Susan Bates ones because I feel that i catch my stitches on it too much, because the hooks are "too defined". I feel more fluid with the Boye, and i like the chunky heavey feel of it. Funny huh??

I'm happy now. I looked down in my crochet basket and there was the missing hook. I said OK where did this come from? Knowing it wasn't there yesterday. There's Zachary...lol He says I found it and put it back.

LOL aww, helpin you Mom!
I have never seen a bone hook. Is it like ivory? I think it is great that there are so many manufacturers making them, it makes so people can get what works for their own individual styles.

ok, great, now I gotta go see what brand of hook I have. LOL You ladies crack me up.
I never knew there was any difference. You can tell I'm a newbie at this huh?
ok I have all Boye except one really thin one. It was my neighbor's aunt's and it might be antique. It says clover on one side and Des__ something on the other. Its so old you can't read it.
