Crochenit
Thank you Sara!

I finally decided to try this tonight after your post this afternoon. It is fun, once I got the hang of it. I think you gals would really like this. It claims to take less yarn than knitting or crocheting, I'll let you know on that one.
For those of you wondering what it is http://www.crochenit.net
I'll post a pic tomorrow of what I get done tonight.~~ Dee ~~

I can't wait to see.

Here's another link for anyone else interested on reading more.
http://www.stitchguide.com/stitches/crochenit/
I really like the stitch guide site.
The kit sells relatively inexpensively.
I came across this:
http://www.kelsea.ca/crochenit.htm
The cable hook looks different than the one on the crochenit site you posted. What does yours look like?
There must be a couple different hooks.
It looks really nice.
So many fun things to try.

oops duh. I just saw that you posted the link I did already. lol
The moez hook does look the same as the one crochenit hook.
http://hometown.aol.com/moezhook/
I see both being referred as tunisian crochet. (which is where I get lost) I say this because in one pic it looks like the afghan stitch where you can cross stitch on a pattern and on other sites it looks like a soft knitted look afghan.
I'll have to read more tomorrow when I am more alert. lol
I think it's just that there are a few double hooks out there, but crochenit has specific patterns for her own hook. (although I am sure you could improvise and use any double hook)

I don't really completely get it when reading it, but think it would be easier with the hook and trying it. I'm going to tape two hooks together to just try it out tomorrow. rofl

Yes Sara, my hook looks like that only it is one piece and 14" long. They have me doing panels for an afghan, only 19 stitches per panel so it is going pretty fast. I got 150 rows done last night.
The lady that created this hook has a leaflet too, I am using that to figure it out. She is right, it is definately easier to understand if you use 2 different colors to start. I think I will get one of the hooks with the cable so I can make bigger things, I don't like making panels and putting them together.
I'm using the Fluffy Stitch #304, http://www.stitchguide.com/stitches/...it_fluffy.html for the afghan. This stitch is really fluffy, I like it.
That is a great site Sara, I'm going to print out the instructions for all the stitch patterns later today.
Melissa, it took me a very frustrating 1/2 hour to figure it out.
The problem was, there is a typo in the afghan pattern ( in the leaflet I'm using) and the stitch count was coming out all wrong right from the get go.
I'll post a pic when I get back from my doc's appt.

Here is a pic. Depending on what side you are looking at, you can see more cream color on one side and more gold on the other. Makes it reversible.

I figured you couldn't resist Melissa!

Sara, how did taping 2 hooks together work? I was thinking you found another use for duck tape!
The end hook on this is about an L or M, good sized. I have K, N, P and Q hooks and this one is definately in between the K and N in size.
I looked for the crochenit hook with the cable in the middle today. No one has it around here yet so I will have to order it off the net. I know I would prefer to make an afghan in one piece. I don't like having to put all these small things together.

Ooh I like that! I can make a scarf in a double crochet, lol and have done the shell stitch. Can someone like me do this relatively easily? Did you say this uses less yarn?
