Has anyone tried Cro-Hook yet?
I found a kit thing with a size I hook and a hat/scarf pattern on clearance at WalMart for $2.50 so I thought I'd give it a shot. I think I'm going to like it! It really is a lot faster and eaisier than crochet, and the look is pretty neat too. I used pink on one side and blue on the other.

The stitches are a little loose on my first row, but if I can do this good on my first try it must be easy!

I have Karen!
It is similar to that crochenit hook I used to make this afghan. http://www.frugalvillage.com/photopo...cat=500&page=2 It is fun once you get the hang of it.
Enjoy!

That's pretty Dee! I want to make dd something. Her crib blanket is too small for her, she likes it up around her neck and her feet stick out.
It looks like you used more than 1 strand of yarn. Did you use the cabel kind of hook? How many stitches across is that and how well did it fit on the hook?
This booklet doesn't say how to finish it off! I just did each end loop like regular crochet, is that right?
Ummm, I can't think of any more questions yet. It was fun! Something different I guess.

Yes I did use 2 strands of yarn, same as you did to create that reversible look. Mine is bigger because this hook only comes in size L or M I don't remember. It is bright yellow plastic and has to end caps, one red and one green.
Here are some instructions and pattern sites for you.

And this is my favorite site, even though it says Crochenit (cro-hook) is the same thing, you are just using a smaller hook size.

Have fun Karen, can't wait to see what you make!

Sorry Karen I didn't completely answer you. That 'afghan' I call it that loosely as it is really only an afghan for a child or a lapghan size.
It was done in panels, either 19 or 29 stitches across each one. I'm having a brain fog today but I think it was 19 stitches. lol~~ Dee ~~

I haven't tried cro-hook or crochenit yet, but it's on THE LIST. lol
I really like the afghan you made Dee.
I've got to finish Zachary's afghan and then work on the next one. I started these small squares that assemble into a quilt block patterns. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online.
