I love this, and I know my mom would too...
...maybe if I start practicing a LOT, I can make it for her for NEXT Christmas

Those are so pretty & you will be able to do those before long.
Keep on practicing & you'll be buying bunches of yarn along with fq's, lol.~*Darlene*~

Ugh...I know Darlene...I have too many interests now!

I think, though, that once I'm done with Christmas gifts that I'm going to take a break from quilting and focus on sewing and crochet.
(I say this as I'm remembering that FQ's are $.99 in a week or two at Joann's!

The 2nd afghan is an easy one Chelle, you could be doing that one very soon.

Yes, I think you could do that in a chenille yarn. Just by looking at the picture of the Bernat yarn (Illusions) used that might be thier version of chenille. I don't use Bernat yarns very often. They just recently became popular in my area so are just now becoming widely available, but they are very expensive.
Check on Yahoo groups for a co-op, you should be able to get it much cheaper. That afghan in my area would cost around $50-$60 to make!

Very pretty and the patterns don't look to be very hard. I don't know about in your area but here yarns go on sale in February. If you get them on sale you could work on them for Christmas next year.
