Question Another roll call - who is doing any needle arts (knitting/crocheting)

I'm still working on my afghan I'm crocheting. (Dee haven't totally given up on crocheting yet.)

I also dug out my knitting needles as I need to knit up some dishclothes, scarves and toques for the kids and hopefully some mitts

    What are you working on?

uh, I can't even look at my crochet needles yet! But I would love to learn how to knit! I bought the book, "knitting for dummies" and guess what??? I must not even qualify under the dummie category

I have been slowly working on a large "home sweet home" cross stitch that I made up - I do a little every night at bedtime. It will be neat if it ever gets finished!

I just finished a few small afghans, but am hoping to start another soon. Just looking for a new project that isn't too difficult for me.

I'm also contemplating making afghans as gifts for Christmas. The last few patterns I've done work up really quickly and I can have one done within just a few days.

I have knitting needles, but haven't even tried to knit in years. I'm a bit apprehensive to start something new now when I'm doing ok with crochet and would rather focus on improving that for now.

I've got 2 scarves going and DS has his afghan (I'll end up finishing I'm sure). I'd like to do a couple of hats or toboggins as well.

Well, I have the sweater I am working on for the store (knitting), a vest I designed and am knitting for DD for Christmas, and a prayer shawl that I am crocheting.

Before Christmas I need to make minimum 5 pairs of socks, a couple of hats, a skirt and jacket (crocheted) plus whatever else the store gives me. I also have two rugs to finish hooking but those are pretty low on the priority list.

    Yeah CJ, don't give up!

I am currently working on............ nothing!

Haven't felt like it lately, I have been battling a cold for 2 weeks now and working too much that I am exhausted all the time. I took a few days off work, so I am sewing.

I have a huge list of things I'm in the middle of. I'm easily distracted, but the good thing is that I tend to go in cycles and do a lot of finishing all at once, too.

First I have to tell kimmee that the gray kitten in her pic looks just like my "kricket". Only kricket is now 3 yrs old, my pets are my children. And for ahrens65, I am also below the standards for "knitting for dummies".

As for my crochet projects, I have just finished a blanket for my aunt. I need to start one for my cousin, christmas gift. And I am crocheting stockings for the kids in my AWANA class at church and the other teachers in the class are going to supply the goodies for inside. Need to make between 30 and 40 of them.

I really need to work more on it.....behind schedule. I am a beginner crocheter so it takes me awhile to get this stuff done. For the stockings I can do about 3 a day, so I am ok there. As for my cousin's blanket, I'm gonna be cuttin' it close....

You just have to love my demo smilies....

    Roxy...

I did crocheting about 20 years ago. I used to make baby afghans and give them away at showers. With the popularity of the ponchos I'd like to take up crocheting again. I never did knit. When I was visiting some friends a couple of weeks ago she and I were going to a used book sale. She had a name of a knitting book that she was going to search for a friend. The name of the book was The Principles of Knitting and she said her friend had looked everywhere for it. This book was out of print and selling for $150 on Ebay. I didn't think she'd find it at a library book sale but we went and there it was in a box of books in excellent condition for only $2.00.
