    Question Crochet Scrunchies Help Needed.......

Okay, I am trying to make some scrunchies, and have been sitting on the couch trying to get started for awhile, to no success. I can not figure out how to hold the ponytail holder and the yarn and then how to attach the yarn and then sc around the ponytail holder.

My pattern says to attach yarn to ponytail holder with a sl st, ch 1, sc around until you cannot see the ponytail holder, join with a sl st to the first sc........

I cannot figure out how to attach it period, let alone how to sc around the ponytail holder.....

    I DESPERATELY NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE......

Speak in plain English please, as you know, I am slow.......

    TIA

Roxy, I'll try to help with this...

Okay, make a slip knot and put it on your crochet hook.

Next pretend the pony tail holder is just a big stitch and pass the hook under like you would any stitch. yarn over the hook and pull a loop through to your side of the holder and complete a single crochet. Keep doing this all the way around.

I'll post some pictures to demonstrate (I'm a visual learner )

This is where you pretend the holder is one giant stitch

Now you just have to chain one and start the process all over again.
