Default Warning! Warning! Missy's thinkin again!!

This is not a drill, I repeat...this is not a drill. Hide all the needles, stow away all the yarn...

    Missy is thinkin again!!!

I want a long sewater...sort of a sweater meets duster jacket kind of thing. I have found some upwards of 100.00 in the stores and online. Not what I am looking to spend. so what I am thinking is...

do you think this would work...

Go to goodwill/thrift store and find a cardigan in a nice (easy to match) simple design/color...and pick up stitches along the bottom edge of the hem. Knit away creating more length to the cardigan until it is as long as a duster sweater. Then where the old hem is for the origional cardigan, add belt loops, and make a coordinating belt???

    LOL Missy!

Okay that just may work, but purchasing a sweater that was most likely machine made, you would have to use very small needles, so play around with it. I'm talking size 2 - 3 or smaller.

    Good Luck!

Yep but try key plate #2 or #1 as I think a purchased sweater will be smaller than key plate #3. Not sure, do a swatch up in each key plate and see what looks about the same guage.

I have a pattern for a duster - made out of chenille type yarn. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty easy.
