    Default Would this interest anyone?

I could do a dishcloth of the month pattern. Dishcloths are fast and easy to work up and it give new knitters someting easy to try their needles on. Great for cementing our new skills and for learning repeating patterns.Good for gift giving, always useable in the kitchen, also great to make a few for the shower!!

Patterns would be both my own and ones I find online.

If our new knitters would be interested, let me know.

For our sock knitters...I could do a sock of the month.

Why a sock pattern? Because it teaches new patterns, techniques in a small useable, giftable, project. But they are generally more complex than flat pieces.

Each pattern would be my own, and something I come up with myself.

If our sock knitters are interested, let me know.

i'd be interested in teh dishcloth a month. my knitting skills have sort of dwindled since i've been doing mostly crocheting the last couple of years and it would be nice to give me something simple to brush up on.

Is it too late to get in on this club? I am an avid but beginning knitter. Have done a little cross-stich and latch-hooking. Can't sew a straight line to save my life.

I am just waiting for a few more replies to see what the general consensus (sp?) is. Maybe i'll do both, I dunno. But starting march, one of these ____- a - month will start.

I love this idea! I participate (or did, haven't done the last 2 months) in a Yahoo Group that does this. The first of the month is a picture cloth, where you have a picture like a teapot or apple (only you don't know what it is until you are done) and the middle of the month is a new stitch cloth.

    Great idea!! I'd participate.

I want to do this, too. I have crocheted dishcloths but I have never knitted one and it has been YEARS since I even tried to knit. This would give me a chance to try it again.

ok, give me through the weekend and I'll work up a pattern. We'll start off with the dishcloths since that seems to be the favorite.
