Question Can I take my crochet hooks on the plane?

I want to crochet on the plane up north, but don't know if I can take my hooks with me? Does anyone know? Leaving bright and early tomorrow!

I found this for you Julie, still not sure after reading it. I'd double check with the airport.

Thanks Darlene, it looks like crochet hooks are allowed, but maybe not knitting needles! I'll try it, if not, I'll give them to my DH to take home for me! I hope I'm allowed. I'm always the one being searched in the airport! HMMMM, kind of makes you wonder, huh?

I took knitting needles when we flew in January and it was fine. But who knows...things change so fast it could be different now. I would call to make sure.

I took mine two weeks ago...knitting and crochet. no scissors though. I left those under in baggage. www.tsa.gov would have info somewhere too... i believe crochet hooks are allowed. You could even call your airline if you wanted one more verification of info.

I've taken crochet hooks on planes - no problems. No scissors though so I brought a one yarn project with plenty to do on it.

the tsa site gives up to date info. when i looked last week, knitting needles and crochet hooks are allowed, though they prefer plastic or bamboo to the metal ones. there is a list of items allowed and not allowed. crochet hooks and knitting needles are addressed on the list. check the site as close to your flight as possible to get the most up to date info. they do restrict scissors and do not allow the disc thread and yard cutters. they should go in checked bags.
