Talking Gonna teach myself to knit!

I'm going to get some stuff tomorrow. Is it hard? I crochet, but they say that knitting goes faster. I taught myself to crochet, do you think I could teach myself to knit?

Sure, you can teach yourself to knit! I learned both many years ago. Funny, I always thought crocheting was faster.

Sure -- you can do it! Ask lots of questions here, if you get stuck. . . and check online for demonstration videos, etc.

I crochet faster, but knitting uses less yarn.

Sure you can! I learned here! And I used the book the complete Idiot's guide to knitting and crochet

I crochet faster too, but i get more bang for my buck with knitting because it uses less yarn.

I taught myself and I think that Heather (YankeeMom) also did by using http://www.knittinghelp.com/ . They have great instructions and what I really loved was that they have online instruction videos and the woman that runs the site is a great teacher and wears her webcam on her chest so the videos show the knitting at the same angle that you are actually knitting.

I find that I can crochet a lot faster than I can knit but that might be because I am still a newbie. I love the relaxing click clacking for the needles as I knit. Have fun with your new hobby .

Sure you can Julie! I can knit fast but I still crochet faster. LOL All depends on the pattern stitch you are using and how intricate the pattern you are making is. Holler if you need help.

I taught myself knitting as well. It took me awhile to realize the less tension i put on the yarn the more even my stitches turn out. But I love it, I have several projects going at the same time... and it is portable, so I can work on it while waiting or traveling. I am hoping to get some pictures of my projects but haven't been motivated to put the needles down to do it!

    Have fun!

You can do it Julie!! If I can teach myself to knit after all these years crocheting, you can do it

Crochet does go faster than knitting, but crochet also uses about 1/3 more yarn than knitting does
