Cross stitch thread question

Do any of you know approximately how many stitches you would get from a DMC skein of floss using Aida 14? I have several patterns that give numbers of stitches and number of skeins, but not what the number of stitches is to determine this. I couldn't find that info on the DMC site, and couldn't come up with any google search phrase that found it. Or maybe it did, but not on the first several pages of results.

The Walmart down the road from me is closing out all their DMC floss for .10 a skein, and I would like to be able to calculate what I will need for several big projects I have on my salivating-over-this-pattern list, and buy as much of the thread as I can. I haven't seen it at this price for a LONG time. But even so, frugally, I don't want to buy more than I actually need. Well, uh, maybe not much more. I've confessed often to being a color junkie.

Oops -- forgot the strands detail. Using 2. Thanks for the links. I'll be able to calculate something that will work. It obviously doesn't hve to be very exact.
