    Question Women only!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I know that we have made cloth feminine pads on here. I would like to try to crochet one! I'm terrible at making up patterns, any ideas!!!!!????? Seems like it would have to have a pocket, for a fabric liner, but, hmmmm... Anyone else want to try also???? Please....

What about a fabric pad with a pocket for a crocheted liner? I was looking up diaper patterns and one suggestion was to knit or crochet a rectangular liner because it is apparently very absorbent.

I am concerned that the "Fabric" made of crochet might be a little....uh...abrasive in that area. When i make cotton crochet washcloths they really scrub well. What do you think?

That's what I was thinking. Which is why I thought it might be better inside a fabric pocket.

That is the quote of the day, maybe even the week. I'm rolling.

As for your problem Julie, I'm not good at patterns and am just lazy and will keep buying my "stuff" at the store. Hope you find something that works for ya.

Hmmmm, didn't think of that! My sewing machine is broke, and I was looking for an easy way out!!! Maybe knitted would be better? Kind of smoother?

I'm thinking knitted stockinette stitch (knit one row, purl one row) so you could put the "smooth" side facing up would be a good idea

ETA: You could get cotton chenille. It's a bit softer than kitchen cotton.

I am gonna get run out of this thread...I can see it now.

Disclaimer: I really really love seeing people be creative. It's great. I love comming up with ideas and seeing everyone's wonderful ideas all come together.

    Now for a brief story.

I made dh a pair of socks. I used what would be equivalent to a stockingette in the foot. Dh has monkey feet...Frodo feet if you will. Hairs on his toes, and some on the top of the foot. But I made him the socks so he wore them. In shoes even. talked about how much he loved them as we were walking. We were mid way walking the dog when i noticed he was walking funny and a new, less-enjoying-the-walk, look came over his face. I asked what was wrong. He claimed nothing and we cut the walk short. I was confused till we got home and he'd removed his shoes. And with a great inhale of breath he removed the socks. As he took them off pain crossed his face and I didn't realies why...until i took a look at his red...and slightly less ...furry feet. the hairs..as he walked in the sock (now...think...pants...) wrapped into the little ''v" 's of the knitting....causing them to rip out when removed.

    um...just a thought to concider I suppose.

really I am not trying to be the wet towel...honest!

I'm sitting at work reading this...and yes, I laughed...it's hard to not to draw attention to one's self when reading something like this... Needless to say, I got a few funny looks.
