Default What are your knitting plans for 2008?

    Here are mine:

    • finish Lorna's Laces socks for DD#2
    • finish (Opal? Regia?) socks for me. (They're started, but I have a long way to go).
    • finish the Colourmart cashmere-merino scarf for DH.
    • Make a warm, but soft, watch cap for DH.
    • Make a warm soft watch cap for me.
    • Make sure everyone in the family has at least one pair of hand-knit socks for Family Camp in August.
    • Improve my sockknitting skills. By knitting socks from stash.

I would like to try once again to figure out how to do it. I've tried several times before but I just can't get the hang of it.

I would like to learn how to knit socks. I got a knifty knitter for Christmas and I am excited to learn how to use it! I do know how to knit/pearl so I can knit afghans, ponchos, and scarves, but I'd like to make things like hats and socks.

I have several knifty knitters, I love them...

Heather - try thinking of each peg as just a loop on a needle... okay, a weird round or recangular one... but, just a loop all the same. When I first started, it felt weird knitting to the right, so, I just loop it up and knit to the left.

I'm planning to make a cable knit baby sweater...hopefully I'll start today.

I am a very sporadic knitter but like to use foreign patterns to make baby clothes. I don't normally make them for anyone in specific. I make what I like and save them for gifts.

It's been a long time since I have really posted here, but just had to for this.
I have decided that 2008 is the year I learn to knit socks, I love small projects, and I really want to knit a 1st sweater as well. I do great making scarves, dish cloths and ponchos, but feel the need to expand my skills now. I am trying very hard to get the knack of knitting on dp needles, but they feel so awkward. I love to use circular needles, they go so much faster and smoother for me.

My best friend and I started a knitting club. Tomorrow will be our first meeting. Our plan is to make gifts for next Christmas. I have already started. I have six pairs of socks, one outfit for my brothers not-yet-born baby and two pairs of mittens already done. Scarves are next on my list.

    My list of to-do's:

Learn how to knit socks so I can make Christmas presents this year (the few scarves I made this year for Christmas were a big hit!)

Finish the scarf & hat I'm making for myself out of baby alpaca.

Finish the ribbon yarn scarf I've got on my needles right now.

Make an afghan or two--one for me & one for Christmas

Knock out a few hats with the left-over yarn in my stash. Stitch & B tch has a great pattern for a quick & easy hat; just make it all one color instead of many & zip zip zip, you're done!
