quilting
ok i have a great idea in mind for a homemade quilt.
but i've never made a quilt.
how do i do this? what's difficult about doing it? what's easy?
what materials do you recommend? do i need to have something between the fabrics? do i have to sew in the middle of the pieces i'm sewing together (like some ppl making designs by sewing).
any advice would help.
thanks!

The great thing is that there is no "Has to" be this or that. However traditionally a quilt is three layers. a top (usually ornate, decorative, pieced, or what have you) batting or flannel maybe, and a backing.
Really, no one can say what is easier than what. We all have different skills, likes and dislikes. so ti's all individual.
Search for the older quilting threads, homesteadmama had some wonderful tips on bringing it all together. you don't have to do it exactly one way or another. glean what you can use from it.

~Check out some quilting books at the library. They'll answer questions you didn't even know to ask! I made my first quilt from a book tutorial and it came out great! Happy stitching!~
