I'm Knitting - I'm Really Knitting!
I am so proud of myself...
I took a very small (20.00) knitting class at AC Moore about a month ago. She really just gave me the basic on the basics - so I have been practicing all the time. I have knitted dishcloths, hats, scarves and finally taought myself how to use double pointed needles. I am so excited...I want to graduate to sock making. I am gonna try socks soon. This new skill makes me very happy and I just had to share

I want to learn how to knit....the only "craft" store here is Hobby Lobby. I may have to ask the mgr if they might do a knitting for beginners class. The only other avenue I can think of is maybe at a senior citizens center or retirement home....asking if they have someone there that knits and would like to teach me (I am willing to pay just like you would at a class). Good Idea
....now I just need to do it.

Knitting is so much fun. I love crocheting too. I need to practice more at both. Next I want to try needle point. Needle crafts are addicting!

I take my knitting to all the kids' ballgames...basketball, baseball, football. I also knit while I wait on them during music lessons. It's a great conversation starter! People want to know what you're making, etc. Scarf and hat sets make great gifts. People really appreciate you picking out just the right color just for them!

Now that you've learned to knit, be prepared.
Soon your kids and their friends will run screaming, as you say, "I could teach you to knit too!"

That's wonderful! Can't wait to see what you are working on.

I keep trying to teach myself, but then I end up getting frustrated and go back to sewing

Be careful. Socks are addictive! I went through a sock phase, then a cap phase, and I'm kind of stuck on scarves. I have never been accused of accessorizing, but I find myself wearing scarves in the winter, just because I knitted them and like them so much!! It never occurred to me that anyone else would want one, until my sister mentioned, last Christmas, that she had hoped to find one of my scarves in her presents. Lesson learned. She'll be getting a scarf this X-mas (and maybe some socks

Now we have absolutely no reason for not having huge yarn stashes!
