I'm in the middle of it, and its not pretty! Luckily, our basement is dry but our pasture is flooded, as is one end of our street. Taking the train to work has been quite an adventure, at times you can't see the tracks under water.

Suns out today, three days on warmth and sunshine predicted. Hopefully that will give some a chance to dry out.

Unfortunately we lost our entire finished basement. Just trying to fight off the mold now that we finally got all the water out. Very tough week (and months ahead). This week has certainly taught me a lot about having an emergency fund for things like this.

Sorry about your flooding RImom !!!

We came close to the water coming in our door... and by close I mean within 1/4"

I can't even imagine what damages you have to fix.

It's been sunny the last few days, I am even planning on grilling tonight, to enjoy the weather.

--- but when I left the grocery store this morning, I heard rumblings about it raining tonight... Nooooooooooooooooo !!!!

Unfortunately the insurance company has denied our claim,, something about water coming in from the septic and underground not being covered. We have applied to FEMA so hopefully they will help us. I heard we are going to get rain today and it is not looking so good outside right now, so my fingers are crossed they are wrong. (so not wanting to see anymore rain right now lol)

Ouch, that hurts when the Ins. Co. finds a loophole and says no.
Hope things are drying out. A friend of mine near the Cape has 5 sump pumps going still!! She lost many of her quilting supplies.

We lucked out and did not get any flooding in our house, but most of our friends and neighbors were not so lucky. My in-laws just had their basement dry up 5 days ago. They had 3 sump pumps running almost continuously for about a month. It's so crazy to think about all that has happened. It has made me want to put more in savings, because you never know what can happen. I feel bad for all the small businesses that were affected and my not be able to recover, most of the big box stores are already reopened or will be within the next few weeks.

We were so fortunate not to have any water damage. My SIL wasn't so lucky and had 3' of water in her basement at one point

. It was getting really ugly here with people fighting (literally) :girlfight: over sump pumps at stores like Lowe's and Home Depot.

I hope things are better now for those of you who had/have problems.
