Default What do you do on New Year's Eve?

We stay home and have appetizers and play board games...and watch the ball drop, of course. We are not party people lol.

Nothing. Stay home. Read, work puzzles, whatever.

Feel sorry for all the dogs and cats and assorted pets who are hiding under beds scared to death of the fireworks.

We go to the annual Talent show and potluck at church. I look forward to it all year and am always amazed at how creative and funny (and brave) the people who get up on the stage are. They really put a lot of work into their acts.

We babysit any/all the grandkids overnight. We are expecting 3 of the 6 this year. We pick them up & parents come retreive them on New Years Day. We used to have our Christmas on New Years Day, but that changed this year. We will have some sort of meal together. I'm not sure what yet.

A tip for anyone else thinking they might do this in the future... Record the ball dropping & play it about 9:00 PM. The little ones won't know the difference...

We usually stay home. We like to have fun on NYE, but I'm afraid to be out on the roads driving with all the drunk drivers! This year we were invited to a neighbors house with 3 other couples. All our kids are about the same age, so we should have fun. We will probably play Apples ot Apples or some other fun game. I'm looking forward to it! Knowing us we will stay up until 12:01 and then go home!!!!

I don't like to be out on the roads w/ the drunks. Usually we stay up watching dvds and maybe have a bottle of champagne.

    But....

This year we'll be at Disneyland! Yep, ringing in the New Year at Disney.

Sometimes play board games with friends, sometimes watch movies....never anything too much more exciting than that. Sometimes at our house, sometimes ot a freinds house.

I work every year so that I can have christmas eve off. The other managers want to go out and I will just sit at home anyway so it is a fair trade.

I like to go out with the drunks. The roads aren't nearly as bad as people think, usually there is very little traffic around town. DH and I usually book seats at a very nice restaurant and splurge on an expensive dinner to celebrate. Though, not this year since he is out of work.

It's usually a home night for us. If we do gather with friends, we break it up by 10 pm. Such are our old years!

But we like to watch a movie, pop some corn, play Rummy Cube. Our tradition for years has been to make homemade baklava and have that and sparkling apple juice at midnight.

Then we totter off to bed and sleep late!

We do on of two things. If we are in Disney World ringing in the new year with Mickey, Minnie and all of our Disney pals, we have a favorite spot near Splash Mountain where we like to sit and watch the New Year's fireworks. We hang around the park until it closes at 1:00 am. Then we take the monorail, boat or ferry back to the resort where we then have a small snack before we go to bed.

If we stay in town, we rent a suite at my favorite hotel. We check in around 3:00. The kids hit the workout room and pool while DH, the dog and I just lounge around. That night around 7:00 we order 2 blooming onions, 2 orders of cheese fries and two spinach dips from the steak house and play Monopoly and Uno. At midnight we toast in the new year with sparkling grape and apple juice in out festive New Year's champagne flutes, wearing our party hats and blowing our horns while watching Dick Clark's Rocking New Year's Eve countdown. After the new year has officially arrived, I call my dad and wish him a happy new year. Then we all begin to settle down and go to sleep. The next day the hotel extends the check out time until the afternoon so we sleep in then head to breakfast downstairs before checking out and going home.

We stay home, there are too many freaks out LMAO
It is usually a normal day for us, then a few hours before midnight we all start watching the new york thing, then right before midnight, we all have some sparking apple cider, watch the ball drop in new york and then we wish each other a happy new year, turn the ringers off on the phones so the drunken ex's and my drunken sister cant call and go to bed!!!!!!

This year we're going to my fil's for a party during the day. I don't think there will be anyone there we know; just my fil's and his wife's friends.

At night we'll probably just do whatever--maybe have a special dinner.
