    Default Bear market freak out

    Bear market freak out

Question: I have a pretty vanilla investment portfolio and an advisor who tells me to stay the course every time I call him while freaking out about the market. This money is my nest egg. I invest conservatively with mutual funds not individual stocks/ bonds. In other words, should I stay the course or freak out and sell?

That's a tough one. Mutual funds supposedly spread the risk by grouping large numbers of stocks together. However, the whole idea of having a vulnerable stock market at the core of an economy (yours, mine or the world's) is a bit scary. I prefer real goods and things I have some slight control over.
