This really bothers me. So much meat wasted and is it really necessary to do it? Of coarse the inhumane treatment of animals is deeply appalling and should be condemned but with proper cooking isn't this meat safe to eat?
I just think it's been blown way out of proportion.~*Darlene*~

The problem is that Mad Cow disease is not killed by cooking. Downer cows are supposed to be tested and were not. So there is now no way to know whether any of the downer cows that were abused were infected. MCD is incurable.
I could only wish that soon feedlots will be abolished and cows will be allowed back on grass the way nature designed them to be. I would rather pay a higher price for organic grass-fed beef and be safe than cheaper prices for industry produced misery.
