Understanding the Transition From Seed Corn to Biofuels
We are about to witness and experience the greatest sustained rise in grain prices seen in the last 30 years. This rise will include wheat, rice, and maize; these three comprising over 90% of all grains cultivated on the planet. Let's do some digging to figure out what is causing this sharp increase.

Dig no further than the commodities exchange. And, read the world news to understand there is a world-wide wheat shortage due to a fungus attacking the wheat in South Asia and droughts in Australia and Russia.

this also brings into question the issue with genetically modified foods, as more supply means less demand and less demand means lower prices.

yeah well seems the plan was to increase prices, and make it expensive so people use less.
that is kind of a bad way to go about cut consumption.
