Freezer to Crockpot
Does anyone have ideas for meals that can be prepared ahead, frozen, and then put directly into the crockpot in the morning (without thawing the night before).
I've recently started working but it is casual and I can get called in without much notice. I would like to have meals ready that I can dump in the crockpot before I leave. I don't want to thaw them out the night before because I'd rather not 'waste' an easy meal if I end up not getting called that morning.
P.S. No one in my family likes stew or beans.

Yesterday I put a mostly frozen corned beef in the crockpot, and added pre-cooked carrots and potatoes (made too much for a pot roast last month) in at the end to warm up. It took longer to cook the meat, but if you're gone 8 hours it shouldn't be a problem for you.

My client had 2 frozen stuffed green peppers, in her crock pot. Each was in a foil "sleeve" with the top open to minimized cleaning and keep the juices contained in the meal.
They looked home made and I am guessing that everything in the stuffing was precooked.
I haven't tried it but I wonder if making a foil pouch for each component (carrots in one pouch, green beans in another and a frozen or precooked meat in its own) and then putting all the pouches in the crock pot would work. All it really is, is a slow oven that keeps the moisture in.The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

I put everything in my crockpot directly from the freezer with the exception of a full chicken (because of the giblets inside). I put my crockpot on low and let 'er cook! Never a bad meal.

Same as Debbie cat...I just put my frozen meat straight into the pot. I usually only eat chicken though.

There is something about this on pinterest where someone assembles the meat, veggies, sauce & spice ingredients etc. in a gallon ziploc bag and freezes them...all cut up and such. They put the entire frozen contents of the bag in the crockpot in the morning and come home to dinner. It looked quite brilliant to me actually.
I think the only thing you would want to add the morning of putting it in the crockpot would be things like creamed soup...but that is easy enough to open and throw in and such.Right is right even if no one else is doing it. Wrong is wrong even if everyone else is doing it.

Most of the items I cook in the crockpot are frozen when they go in. This includes beef, port, and cut up chicken. I season to our liking put a little liquid in the bottom and cook away.
I also like to use the crockpot liners when I have them to help with clean up. Perhaps you could assemble your meal in the crockpot liner before you freeze and then put the whole thing (bag and all) in the crockpot. I've never tried that but it seems to reason that it would work.

If you put what ever marinades you have on hand in the freezer bag with the meat, like Italian dressing, BBQ sauce, ect.. And freeze it that way, you can just dump it in your crock pot like that and put it on a low setting all day. It even adds flavor. If you want to add dry seasoning just add a tablespoon of oil, or water even and freeze it that way.
