Default Anyone Else Seal Jelly By Turning The Jars Upside Down?

Does anyone else seal their jelly jars this way? It's the way my mom taught me how to do it (and ONLY for jelly) and just wanted to know if anyone else does.

I heard you have to turn it up side down for like an hour. I have never done it. What do you do?
