Default Our little Bud passed away

I woke this morning to find our bunny, Bud, had passed away. DS has never faced the death of a pet and is taking it worse than I had anticipated. DD is handling it a little better.

We will be having a funeral for him later in the morning. He was an inside bunny and I feel like it is going to be pretty hard on the kids when we take his hutch out. I think I may drop them off at the arcade when we remove it so they don't have to see it.

DH and I are okay, but our hearts are breaking seeing the kids so upset. I am such a cry baby right now(and I hate it - I rarely cry).

Oh, I'm so sorry. I know how it is to lose a pet. My brother didn't get over losing Pepper, the toy poodle we had since I was in 5th grade until recently, when Mom bought one of my Shih-Tzu puppies. It's really hard.

I'm really sorry. It's a very difficult event to understand when you're young but honestly I think it's an important lesson to teach kids, although it's terribly painful.

I am so sorry! I know how difficult it is for you to watch their grief. In the span of a 6 month period my DS watched his gramma pass away, a turtle, a gerbil, and our family dog. He was 8 at the time and wow, it was so very hard!
