Default its a sad day for pets

i hadn't seen my sons puppy, Grace, all day yesterday. i assumed she was hiding under the back porch to keep out of the heat. when it started to rain yesterday i took a lantern outside and looked for her again. still couldn't find her. my husband went and looked for her this morning and found her curled up under some leaves beneath our bedroom window. he said it looked like she died in her sleep. she didn't act any different up until that day, so we dont know what happened to her. coop doesn't know and i dont want to tell him.

Aw man. I am so sorry

This is a bad day for pets.
We had a close call yesterday. We hadn't seen our orange cat in a couple of days. He's pretty shy, very skittish, scared of his own shadow so I knew he hadn't gotten out (they are indoor cats anyway). He is sickly, but to not see him for days is unusual. I was afraid he curled up somewhere and died I sent dh on a cat hunt when he got home from work. Thankfully he was found hiding under the sheets on the futon in the spare room.

I'm very sorry for your loss....I can tell you that dogs are solitary creatures when it comes to death. They seem to know when the time has come and try to find somewhere to be alone to lay down and sleep.
