I have a question about my cat??
Our oldest cat has been throwing up for the last week. He is a very finiky (sp?) cat. He will only eat Meow Mix. If we put something else in front of him he will NOT eat it. He knows the difference. He will not even eat table scraps.
Dh and I went to a sale at the school and they were selling cat food for cheap. We bought a bag of Meow Mix, but it was the seafood medley or something. that was tore open but had been resealed. We mixed it with our other cat food and he ate it right up. A day or two later he started throwing up. We thought it was a hairball. Then they next day he threw up again. So I decided just to throw the whole container mix away since I can't not stand throw up. I gag and go on when I see anything like that.
Well he has now thrown up everyday for a week. He seems healthy and fine just starts gagging and throws up. Then he wants to go outside. Why can't he throw up outside.
Is there anything I can give him for it? Like pepto, or something??? I waited to see if it would stop by today and call the vet if not. Well I call today and they are closed. Stupid me!!~Non-Mortgage Debt: $2,440.95~

Don't give him Pepto!!!!! He could have either Parvo or feline distemper, both very contagious to any other cats you may have in the house.

Is it an older cat? We have a cat that has been a puker the last few years. The vet ran tons of tests and he is fine. The vet recommended a very pricey food which he puked right up. The vets next recommendation was to put the water FAR away from the food to discourage gorging. That worked!!!!!!! Now he only pukes occasionally.
Hairballs also cause puking. We tried the vets laxatone stuff for hairballs. Once I read the ingredients I decided the cat wasn't eating that. We now give him a T of olive oil once a week. His coat sure is shiny!~July 19 saving goal for event $104/$1000

That's how we found out our's had the throid problem. I suggest you take her to the vet. When we lost Boo last month she was down under 5 pouinds and that was with her medicine.
We have two cats that survived distemper, they would violently vomit. If you even think it has distemper call the vet immediately. You need to catch that as soon as possiblePine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

My older cat, Harley is a puker as well. I finally found a good holistic food called Wellness that he can keep down. It has all of the good probiotics in it as well, which really help with a cat's stomach and digestion. I also make sure that he does not drink water for at least 15 minutes after he eat's. And one more thing to think about. The heat of the day seems to set his tummy off at times. He will vomit if it get's too hot. I keep fans running in all of the areas of our home that he likes to lounge in. This makes him much more tolerant of the summer heat. Good luck with your kitty!
