Little Girl Not Eating
I'm worry about my "Little Girl" as she hasn't eaten anything since 1:00 a.m. Sunday (today). She is a "grazer" and is usually starving by 6:30 a.m. She won't even take a little butter off my finger and I've tried different wet foods - she can't even look at it. We lost her brother in 2003 and he too would not take an interest in food after a few days (turned out to be cancer). Any suggestions?

I'd take her in on Monday if possible. FOr now I'd try getting some wet food and schmear it on the roof of her mouth. see if the taste of it encourages some nibbling or grazing.

Take her to the vet asap.
Cats won't eat what they can't smell. I wonder if she has a respiratory condtion?
I've gotten cats to eat by cooking chicken livers for them.
Good luck, and keep us posted.

Does your vet have a weekend call service? I'd call and talk to them to see if they think it warrants an emergency visit or if it can wait until tomorrow.
When my cat was too sick to eat, we used to use a syringe and give him chicken broth.

When ours was sick and the rabbit... we made sure we did the syringe of water every hour or so. Just to keep hydrated. In between we offered food. If that all fails then on to the vet. Good luck and keep us posted. hugs to you too

When my baby wouldn't eat the vet told me to take mashead potatoes or smooshed rice and mix itwith gravy. Don't make it too tick. Then push a little into the corner of her mouth. Start with a little since she hasn't been eating. Maybe this will help til you get her to the vet. Does she have bad breath. (I know dogs nd cats have bad breath but more than usual) This can also be a sign of an illness. Also if you can find a way to get liquids into her so she won't dehydrate. Hope she gets better. I hate it when my kitties are sick.

Go to the petstore and get a tube of Nutrical...it's sweet paste that is full of calories and is good for ill dogs or tiny tiny pups that are just weaned and need to keep their sugar up.
I wouldn't wait too long before a vet visit...you need to rule out a medical problem.

Try tuna water? (the water from the water packed tuna)Probably isn't anything major. Just like us, pets sometimes feel blah and will not feel like eating for a day. If nothing by tomorrow I'd call too.
Good luck & keep us posted.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions and hugs. She drank a lot of water at about 1:00 p.m. then threw up (just the water). At 3:00 she ate a little food and 4:00 she ate a little more food (kept it down both times). I'm hoping she's on the mend but will still keep an eye on her.
Again, thank you - I don't know what I would do without the wonderful people on this forum

I`m so glad she is eating a little and drinking water. If she isn`t her self tomorrow. I would take her to the vet ,and get her checked out.
