    Unhappy Our Lucas Has Passed Away

    Our furbaby, Lucas, passed away this Saturday. I found him under one of his favorite trees as peaceful as could be. He was an 11 yr old Golden Retriever Lab Mix. My son is heartbroken. Telling him about Lucas was one of the hardest things. And to be up with him until 1 AM last night while he grieved inconsolably was just unbearable.

    My son told me this was his fault. You see, a couple of weeks ago, he apparently asked God for proof of His existance. He told me God killed Lucas to prove to him that He exists. OH BOY!

    I told him that God sends signs in so many small ways. And if there were any signs to be taken away from Lucas's passing then it would be that Lucas did not suffer, chose his favorite spot, and basically chose his time to die with dignity.

    At least Lucas is at peace. He will be so missed.

    Oh I am so sorry for your family's loss. I know what you mean about it being hard to tell your DS.. It is very hard to watch them grieve.
