Agility Training for Dogs
Our city has an event every year called Bark in the Park and has all kinds of activities and booths geared towards pets and it benefits our humane society so it's for a good cause. This is the first time we went since we now have a dog that won't have a nervous breakdown or bite somebody. There must have been at least 1,000 dogs there and believe it or not, I only heard ONE bark all afternoon.
One of the reasons we went was to see if Zippy was interested in the agility course ~ he ran through it like a champ! As far as I know, he's never even seen one before. He did lay down and rest in one of the tunnels, LOL! I guess I'll look into this more. Does anyone's dog do this? I'd be curious hearing your experience with it.

I've never done it with my own dogs, but I've been to some of the events and they are so much fun to watch! I used to work for a company that trained police dogs and some of the trainers that worked with us, did this type of training with their own dogs. It was really neat to see how much the dogs enjoyed it!
Most areas have clubs and organizations you can join if you are interested, depending on where you live! Do a web search and I'll bet you'll come up with something interesting!

Agility is fun and habit forming! I wanted to do it with my Am Staff, but since she blew our a knee when she was younger, our vet thought it would be good idea if she DID NOT follow this path. Gypsy does everything with gusto and he was sure she'd ruin the other knee as well.
We do a kind of agility at our local park. I let her go up and down on the tables, on the play equipment (without kids on it, of course), etc. She has a good time doing this.
