I'm not good at this. I once had a rabbit named "Stew."

I named my two baby finches (who, it turns out, are a boy and a girl) Bo and Peep.

As a young child I had a pet chicken in the flock that I called Musty. I have no idea where that came from and I would definitely not recommend it. Scratch that one off the list.

I also loved a book about two chickens. Really dumb. But I read it over and over when I was a kid. The "heroines" were Bossie (you get the picture), and Flossie, the sweet humble but scorned one. But Bossie's proud sons were "liquidated" (I loved the word!) and Flossie's kindly son came to rule to coop. Yeah. Really dumb.

So, I give you Flossie and Bossie for a literary (of a sort) submission. That's the extent of my chicken name expertise.

Could she have been named Musty because of her smell?

I used to have a chicken named Peggy. Go figure.

Musty... couldn't have been the smell. Apparently I made up the name, and since we moved from there when I was 4, I'm sure I didn't know what the word meant. Maybe I just liked the sound of it.
