marley and me
i just went and saw it. Go see it. this is an order!
i would tell you about it, but then i would spoil it for you.11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I did like it, but I think it's for older kids. I hate to saound like a prude, but all the talk about making babies and marriage problems were a little much for my 8 year old, I thought. I think it should have been PG13.

Thanks for the warning mom21of each!
I am planning on taking the boys to a movie on New Year's day as a treat while they are off of school. They wanted to see the Tale of Desparo, but I was trying to talk them into Marley and Me. I think after the warning, we'll just see the Tale of Desparo. And since I only go to the theatre about once a year, I'll have to wait for Marley to come out on video!

We loved it!
We went as a family Hubby, Me, Son ( almost 12) and Daughter (almost 8) went to see it.
Son and I had read the book.
We have a Yellow Lab almost 2 year old Pup (who is sort of like Marley). There were other similarities like the couple had the same wedding cake topper on their shelf and the daughter wore the same nightgown my daughter has. So it seemed very personal and familiar.
It was a great movie. The whole theater laughed and cried.
We met a friend on the way out of the theater and she said if she had known more about the movie she would not have brought her younger children (toddlers) as they were very distraught over the sad parts.Last edited by imagine; 12-30-2008 at 09:14 AM. Reason: to add Daughter's almost age
