I can see why they say having a pet can lengthen your life
Our Bella is such a character.
The last few mornings she escapes from ds14, to come and find me. DS gets up extra early to have time alone in the morning, he's not a morning person, so he is grumpy, getting his things done before his sisters get up, really makes the day more pleasant.
So she rushes upstairs, and leaps up on the bed, and now she discovered it's pretty toasty under the covers, so she crawls in and snuggles up. this is how I wake up in the morning.
Now dh was home this morning. I thought he'd be mad about it as we dont' care to have her in bed. But he just chuckled and said "what a brat". After a few minutes I sent her down stairs, she went reluctantly.
But what a nice way to wake up..lol. With a smile at her antics.

Feel the love.
Our dog is help keeping us younger by getting us out of the house & going for long walks a couple times a day. I was leading a pretty sedentary life before Riley came into ours but now I'm usually walking about 4 miles a day.~*Darlene*~

yup...they all have their own thoughts and feelings and once you get to know them you discover their personalities..... animals are fabulous !!!:
right now i am trying to type and harley is perched on my lap staring up at me and putting his feet all over my keyboard so i will pet him instead of play with this big ugly machine....

you're SO right on this...
I must share my story.
we're all sitting in the lvg room and it's kiddo's bedtime, so he tells the dog "go to bed"... the dog gets up, travels a few feet to his "pillow" (dog sized pillow on the floor). I giggle, cuz that's "pillow" not "bed".
so kiddo again tells the dog and this time dog goes to "bed".
kiddo goes to brush his teeth & other bedtime rituals... and dog SNEAKS by the bathroom & rushes into the lvg room and lays back down on pillow like he never moved & had this little happy twitch in his tail.
I roared... funniest thing I'd seen in a while. Our dog sometimes reminds me of an impish 5 y/o!!!

I agree. My Yorkie sleeps on top of me and keeps me toasty warm. I have 2 rescue Yorkies and they are so loving it is a great pleasure to have them around. They make great security alarms as well.

my two boys (kitties) lay all over me on the couch and when i say "bedtime..boys...bedtime"..they both jump up and run like mad to the bedroom to see who can get there first and get the closest spot to where i will be...and they sit there and wait for me....

Aww, that is so cute sabrelvssammy! My one smaller cat has taken a real liking to my FIL. She sits on his lap constantly (she has never sat on anyone's lap...ever!) and keeps him company. He just loves it and I think it makes him feel better because he wanted to start making sure she was fed so the dish is in his washroom and he keeps track of it. I think it has helped im alot knowing he has something that he can take care of that doesn't wear him out.

My kitty loves getting under the covers and snuggling up to me when I watch tv in bed in the morning. Sometimes I will wake up at night to find the bed has been taken over.
Pets really do have a way of making you feel good.

Pets are fun to have around.
We have 2 male cocker spaniels. Totally spoiled and real characters. They have their routines. I think Buster is sleeping in the chair right now with hubby and Freckles is a few feet away from me, sleeping on the floor. He likes to keep track of me.--------My signature--------
The economy is now uncharted waters... grab a oar and start rowing. ~~
Put the frog in pot, turn up the heat real slow, and the frog doesn't hop out. And by the time he realizes, he should , it's too late... think about it.

My 4 cats have all different personalities and they are all loves. They cuddle with us and with each other. When I pet them I can feel my stress level go down
