Great job on Coo's weight! I'll be anxious to hear what the rehabber says about that! They should be quite happy!
It was very difficult to give up the puppy, but he did get placed with a person and I was invited to their graduation, so that really helped, to see that he was going to be helping someone along in their life to make their life better and more independent.~Kim~

She did most of the work. I'm just relieved that I didn't kill her!

You did a fantastic job! Look at the weight gain, shes doing great, even tho she was aliitle under what you wanted! You deserve a big pat on the back!
Too bad you cant release her there with you, around here they find "safe" places or where they were found. My heart is breaking for you right now, I know how you feel. It is impossible for me to not attach. Good Luck with everything you do, it takes a very special person to do this!Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

I really admire your patience and compassion - I am so glad that Coo did so well - I showed the pictures to my girls and they keep after me with questions about how she is making out.

Thanks, Karen,
You can let them know that Coo is doing really well. She went back to her rehabber today, and the rehabber is going to let Coo try to eat on her own for a few days. If Coo keeps her weight, there is a big flight cage with another dove waiting for her, so she can fully recuperate and grow back some of the feathers that are missing on her wing and tail (probably caught by a cat).
I'll let you know when I get an update.

For anyone still following this thread, I heard from the rehabber that Coo successfully made it to the flight cage with the other dove. She will live there until her feathers come back in all the way, and then she'll be released.
Success!!DH aka Mad Hen
