Default Pet Parade!! Let's hear about your pets!!

Just curious about the diversity of pets we all have. Many of you know that I have a LOT of animals; however, many of them I don't consider as pets. Among those I DO count as pets are:

    Riley (8 yo lab/pit mix)
    Chewy (8 yo Chow)
Crash (4 mth old chocolate lab)
Kenya (10 yo African Grey Parrot)
    Froggy and Alice (10 yo yellow-collared mini-macaws)
Herbie and Usher (10 yo Hahn's macaws)
Ariel (3 mth old lionhead bunny)
Angus (6 mth old English Angora bunny)

I also have finches, parakeets, chickens, goats, donkeys, goldfish, and a feral cat, but I think of them more as co-residents than pets.

I have seen mention of pet turtles, lizards, cats, birds, etc. on this site. Would love to hear a little about YOUR pet(s).

Buster and Freckles, Americain cocker spaniels, both fixed males. Freckles is 13 and Buster is 12.5. Freckles is currently struggling with arthuritis in his hips. Has his good days and bad, depending on weather. Getting better food into him. As natural as possible.

One goldfish. Big one. Not named. Not sure why.

21 chicken. With Bert and Lucy being the stars.

Have had quite a few pets through the years. Grew up on a farm and then lived and worked on a farm. Lots of critters

9 year old miniature schnauzer: Katie : we adopted her this past summer - she is a Canadian Grand Champion who was put into a puppy mill. She lived for 6 years rarely being out of her crate until she was rescued. She is the sweetest, most loving dog in the world

10+ year old cat with no ears : Daisy : also a rescue, used to be a stray, got her 7 years ago when I got divorced

3 year old serial killer cat : Paul : my oldest daughter's cat, Paul enjoys terrorizing the local wildlife and bringing the corpses onto my front porch. His victims include too many birds to count, a rabbit (NOT a baby, full grown), many mice and several squirrels (one of whom he caught IN THE TREE!) Paul proudly stalks his prey wearing three collars with bells on them. Before the addition of the collars I discovered that a neighbor around the corner had been feeding Paul every day, thinking my long, lean, stalking machine was a stray! He's such a con artist!

    I love this thread!

Daisygirl, have you seen the cat bib? They sell it for outside cats to wear, in order to slow them down from decimating the songbird population. I've seen it in action, and it works great - doesn't affect their prowling and such, but when they leap, it flaps up and temporarily blocks their shot, giving the bird (squirrel, lizard, etc) a chance to get away. Most cats hate you for putting it on them, but get used to it pretty quickly.

Savvy_sniper, I love your frog's name!! I used to have Eastern newts, and they would recognize me as the Great Provider of Tubifex Worms and would swim up into my open hand and wait for treats.

Sere (Sara) almost 10 year old female Belgian Tervuren. She was my first show dog. She hated it! LOL I did manage to finish her championship though.

Blue 6 year old male Belgian Tervuren. He was supposed to be a show dog as well, but he didn't develop as expected. That's ok, he's a very loving boy.

Shadow 14 year old male cat. He was my dad's cat. He drove in an RV from Arizona to Michigan. My dad couldn't take care of him any more. My step-mother has Alzheimers and it was just one less thing for him to worry about. He's a fantastic cat and sleeps under the covers with me at night. He must be missing his heat from Arizona!

    Currently we have:

Frangelico aka Frannie: 4 yo Jack Russell weighing in at 22 lbs (she should only be around 12 lbs) adopted from the humane shelter at less than 6 weeks old

Hunter Heineken aka Hunter: Weimaraner/Lab mix - found him at the ballpark 3 1/2 years ago - was so hungry he ate 4 lbs of dog food in one sitting and was infested with tics.

Jack Daniels aka Jack: 5 yo Siamese mix (inside cat)- found him abandoned under a shed at church as a new kitten - only weighed 6 ounces and was bottle fed for a couple of weeks.

Mochachoca Latte aka Mocha: she began appearing in our backyard four years ago. She is now an inside lap cat - approximately 12-15 years old.

All of our pets are named after beverages. We have had a Bud, Miller, Shasta, Fanta, Sanka, Maxwell House, and a few others.

We also have named the neighborhood strays we feed. One is Jim Beam aka Jim, Mini Jim Beam aka MJ and Chardonnay.

Pics below are Frannie, Frannie, Hunter, Jack, Jack, Hunter, Mocha, and Mocha (when she use to go outside).

I have two dogs...Raven and Ruby. They are 5-year-old Rottweiler/Golden Retriever/Shar Pei mix. My friend adopted a pregnant dog from the pound and these were two of the 8 puppies that she had. They are sisters, but you'd never know. Raven is 70lbs and Ruby is barely 30lbs. They are my little babies!!!

Back when I had cockatiels, I named them all after wines. My first was Chardonnay, followed by Merlot and Chablis. Then came Chenin. Merlot and Chablis had Beaujolais, who hooked up with Chenin. Then there was Fume, Riesling, Malbec...you get the idea.
