Default Are your kitties and doggies in for the night

Yea, even the southern states and winter crap.

It's hard to predict here, maybe some serious ice and snow or not...but bring in your pets if they love the outdoors even.

Mine at the moment is sharing the covers with me and purring. Soothing. It's freezing in Missouri.

Yes, the inside are in, the outside are all in their insulated houses and there is a heat lamp out incase they arent warm enough. Its only 8 outside now and its almost 11:00. Its just down right cold!

I lost power yesterday morning at about 4am, so all my heating systems were kaput. I stoked up the wood stove, and the dogs came into the living room for most of the night. The finches have a propane heater keeping them from turning into popsicles, and I devised an elaborate barrier to keep the dogs from going into the bunnies/parrots' room, but to allow me to keep the door open so the heat from the wood stove could take the edge off the cold.

The donkeys, goats, guineas, and most of the chickens slept outside, in their respective shelters. I did hear a plaintive cackling just at dusk, and went out to find one of my chickens totally disoriented and VERY cold, sitting out in the open, half buried in a snow drift. I brought her in and warmed her up, and she spent the night with the finches. Sent her back outside this morning after a hearty breakfast. So one chicken actually spent the night in the house. (Don't tell the others, or they'll ALL want to do it!)

<--- those 2 are couch potatoes

The chickens have a real nice henhouse and a used car port tarped real good for their outside run attached to the coop. They should do well this winter.

Kitty is an indoors cat, although at times she woud rather go outside. When it snows I think my lap is her heating blanket. She has her own bed on top of my bed which she sleeps in at night.

Forgot to give her breakfast today. She was waiting for me when I came home.

    All animals in the barns.
I don't allow pets in the house ever but everyone is bedded down very well and being in the south we have a shorter, easier winter so that is always a plus!!

Mine are always in - and with our 35 MPH winds for last two days; it hasn't even taken them too long to go outside and do their business - when they needed outside!

With our wind chill we have been BELOW ZERO even during the daytime!

Mine go in and out as they want. But, since it is so cold, we keep an eye on them and check the back door frequently. Usually, once it starts getting really chilly, about 5 or 6 pm, they all come in for the night.

My dogs always sleep inside at night. Also, they hate the rain and refuse to go out in it. They are so spoiled but I wouldn't have them any other way!!! I love my dogs!

2 of my dogs are on the couches (as always) 1 on top of his boy. The third one will come up stairs w/ me in a minute to sleep on HER rug (she is arthritic). She used to sleep in bed w/ us.
Cats are under the tree, gathered around space heaters,in bedrooms etc. It's a rough life for animals around here. REAL ROUGH.LOL
